The Legacy Behind Our Name

The History of Henry Elliott & Co.

“Henry Elliott & Company, Inc. is more than a name. It is a reflection of the people and legacy that shaped the foundation of our business.”

The “Henry” in our name honors Henry Siegel (1906–1982), whose career defined a commitment to long-standing client relationships and entrepreneurial thinking. After graduating from Boston University, Henry spent 45 years with National Cash Register, where he became known for going beyond the expected. He didn’t simply sell equipment. He built trust, expanded services, and ultimately launched his own business in retirement, carrying forward a deeply personal approach to serving clients.

The “Elliott” represents Robert Elliott Wagner, whose leadership in the textile industry reflected a different but equally important dimension: craftsmanship, adaptability, and ownership. A graduate of the Lowell Textile Institute, Bob took over his family’s manufacturing business at a young age and led it with hands-on expertise, designing products and building lasting relationships with distributors and retailers.

When Ken Wagner founded the company in 1992, he chose the name “Henry Elliott” to represent these two influences. Not just as individuals, but as ideals. A blend of relationship-driven service and specialized expertise.

Today, Henry Elliott & Company carries that legacy forward as a national leader in healthcare IT staffing, connecting organizations with highly skilled professionals in a rapidly evolving industry. While the work has changed, the philosophy behind the name has not: build trust, deliver expertise, and create lasting partnerships.
